Sand Compass
This vintage Turkish rug was hand-knotted in Anatolia some 40 to 60 years ago, where generations of weavers have passed down motifs rich in symbolic meaning. The central star medallion, a common Anatolian form, is traditionally understood as a protective symbol, while the scattered geometric motifs across the sandy ground draw from a visual language developed over centuries of village and tribal weaving.
The soft, muted palette of sand, lavender, and faded coral reflects the gentle aging of natural dyes over decades of use. The wool and cotton blend construction offers both strength and softness, while the generous proportions make this piece well suited for layering beneath a coffee table, anchoring a bedroom, or introducing texture to transitional spaces.
