Ochre Diamond
Handwoven in the Middle Atlas mountains of Morocco, this rug belongs to the Beni Ourain tradition of bold linework on a richly dyed ground. Large diamond forms are traced in natural cream wool across a deep ochre field, the warmth of the colour intensified by the density of the pile.
A striking departure from the typical ivory Beni Ourain palette, this piece draws its character from the saturated golden ground. The hand-knotted diamonds vary in scale and proportion, lending an organic rhythm to the composition. Wool tassels frame the piece at both ends.
